Iloilo City assured of steady power for Dinagyang

ILOILO CITY — MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) assured the people of steady power for the weekend highlight of the 2025 Dinagyang Festival.

“We want to ensure that everyone can enjoy the Dinagyang celebrations without worrying about power outages,” said MORE Power President and CEO Roel Castro.

“We have a comprehensive contingency plan in place, including preventive maintenance and dedicated response teams, to address any potential power-related issues during the festival,” added Castro.

Since Jan. 22, MORE Power has been conducting preventive maintenance to prepare for the Jan. 25 to 26 highlight of the festival that honors the Santo Niño.

These measures — monitoring and securing automatic circuit reclosers (ACRs) and load break switches (LBS) and feeder loaders — aim to ensure balanced power distribution across the city to avoid overloading and potential disruptions.

Trees were also trimmed to prevent potential power outages caused by branches.

MORE Power has deployed not only its regular employees but also contractors to respond to any power-related incidents.

It has also has set up response teams at the Freedom Grandstand, Iloilo Provincial Capitol, Delgado-Mabini-Quezon-Ledesma Streets, SM City, Ayala Atria, and Megaworld Iloilo Business Park.
