This luxurious spa place specializes in scalp treatments and giving personalized services to each customer based on their specific needs. In a conversation, its co-founder, Samanthy Dy, shared the inspiration behind Skalp and how it is different from the usual hair salons.

Please tell us what Skalp Head Spa is.
Skalp Head Spa specializes in scalp treatments that combine traditional Japanese techniques with modern technology.

What inspired you to open Skalp?
We were inspired to open Skalp because we wanted to create a space where clients can relax and enjoy scalp or hair treatments. Typically, when we go to a salon for these treatments, the energetic atmosphere can be overwhelming and doesn’t provide the peace and quiet some people seek.

What makes this spa unique?
Skalp combines traditional Japanese massage techniques with modern technology and uses Kerastase products to provide our clients with the best experience in scalp health and relaxation. From the moment they enter the spa, we ensure a soothing environment, complete with tea, snacks, and blow-dry services.

What are the most popular services?
Our most popular services are the Ultimate Skalp Experience and the Chronologiste Hair Treatment.

The Ultimate Skalp Experience is a 180-minute course service that has a comprehensive 20-step journey, including soothing scalp massage, waterfall therapy, and exfoliation of the scalp. A before and after scalp test is also part of the experience.

Meanwhile, the Chronologiste Hair Treatment is a specialized treatment using the best of Kerastase products, based on the needs and preferences of the customers. We carefully curated all the products we used and have tested them ourselves. After trying various brands and products for scalp care, we decided to go with Kerastase, which has 60 years of luxury innovation in scalp and hair care.

Any new treatments and services you’ll launch this year?
This year, we will be opening two new branches at Admiral Hotel and Edsa Shangri-La Mall. At the Admiral Hotel, we will introduce full-body massages and launch our body ritual service. Additionally, we will implement our hair loss program, featuring exosomes and red light therapy, in collaboration with our in-house doctors.
