Drug pusher killed in Cebu City buy-bust

CEBU CITY â€“ Police killed a suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation here on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 23.

The fatality was identified as Fredo Juntong, a high-value individual in the illegal drugs trade.

The Waterfront Police Station conducted the operation against the suspect at past 2 p.m. in Sitio Silangan 2, Barangay Tejero.

Police said the suspect sensed that he was dealing with a police poseur-buyer after he handed over the contraband and ran towards his house.

The suspect went up the third floor of his house and took a gun and attempted to shoot the pursuing policeman but his firearm jammed.

The police officer fired at the suspect as he continued to squeeze the trigger. The suspect was hit and taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Police arrested two men suspected to be cohorts of the suspect.
