Ignore the noise and focus on uplifting the lives of Filipinos, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin told public servants.
In his speech at the 2025 Budget Execution Forum on Friday, Jan. 24, Bersamin urged fellow public servants to renew their commitment in building a better Philippines.
"Our mission today is crystal clear, to serve the Filipino people with unwavering integrity, relentless dedication, and genuine compassion,” Bersamin said during his attendance at the 2025 Budget Execution Forum in Pasay City.
“Let us forge ahead, undeterred by the noise, focused on uplifting the lives of our people to the best of our abilities,” he added.
The Executive Secretary also called on public officials to hold themselves to the highest standard of governance.
He cited Executive Order No. 31, which institutionalized the Philippine Open Government Partnership (PH-OGP) in order for all branches of government to pursue the values of transparency, accountability, and public participation.
He added that the Philippines in 2024 also became a member of the OGP Global Steering Committee.
"Hence, it is incumbent upon us to be a leader among nations in advancing open governance."
Bersamin further said that public officials "must break down silos and foster genuine collaboration across all government levels."
The 2025 Budget Execution Forum seeks to provide an avenue to discuss this year’s budget execution. It was led by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
