The Internal Audit Services said that the city spent only P9.9 million out of the P25.5 million allocation for fuel last year compared to 2023 with P16.3 million.
“This is taxpayers’ money, so they have the right to know about these matters,” Internal Audit Services Department Head II Ray Agpangan said.
The city launched the MAB Cab in March 2023 to determine the location of city government employees whenever they travel.
The city is using fleet cards introduced last year to prevent unauthorized fuel transactions and enhance the efficiency and speed of city operations.
With significant savings on fuel, the city ensures that the funds will be carefully managed by the City Budget Office for future projects.
