485 cops from Negros Occidental deployed to secure Dinagyang

BACOLOD CITY – A total of 485 policemen from this city and Negros Occidental were deployed to Iloilo City to augment security for the highlight of Dinagyang Festival this week.

Police Capt. Liberty Indiape, Bacolod City Police Office public information officer, said that 248 personnel were sent on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod police director, said that they will return here in time for the Bacolaodiat Festival from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.

Police Capt. Judesses Catalogo, public information officer of the Negros Occidental police, said that 237 provincial police personnel were tapped for Dinagyang.

They are part of the more than 7,000 security deployed to ensure a peaceful and safe Dinagyang.
