Pasay City's Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) management held a consultative meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23, aimed at enhancing fire protection and emergency response.
The BFP, led by Fire Marshal Supt. Mariano Taguiam, met with NAIA General Manager Angelito Alvarez, and discussed strategic collaboration and comprehensive planning for enhanced emergency response operations.
Taguiam said the key topics that were discussed were the evaluation of current emergency protocols, identification of potential areas for enhancement, and the integration of the BFP’s expertise in fire prevention, suppression, and rescue operations within the airport’s existing emergency framework.
The BPF chief emphasized the importance of preparedness in one of the country’s busiest transportation hubs as it serves as a vital gateway to the Philippines, and to ensure the safety of passengers, personnel, and infrastructure.
Taguiam said the BFP is committed to supporting the airport’s emergency response initiatives through expertise, resources, and continuous collaboration.
He said the consultative meeting marked a significant step toward fostering a safer environment at the NAIA and reinforces the BFP’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
