P4.8-M shabu seized from woman in Taguig

The Taguig Police scored a major drug haul when they seized P4.8-million worth of shabu on Jan. 22.

The buy-bust operation in Barangay South Signal, conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), also led to the arrest of a female suspect identified as alias Sherhana, 32, who was tagged by the police as a high value individual.

During the operation, the police seized three plastic bags containing 708.5 grams of shabu estimated to be worth P4.81 million.

They also recovered a genuine P1,000 bill used as marked money, 49 pieces of fake P1,000 bills (boodle money), and a paper bag believed to have been used in the transaction.

The suspect, detained at the Taguig Police custodial facility, will be charged for violation of Sections 5 (sale) and 11 (possession of illegal drugs) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

“This operation underscores our dedication to safeguarding our communities from the devastating impact of illegal drugs,” said Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena, director of the Southern Police District (SPD).
