Bersamin hails media’s role in nation-building

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin has emphasized the pivotal role of media in shaping the nation’s future, particularly its role in fostering a well-informed society and supporting the government's efforts to achieve its economic goals.

Bersamin said this as he graced the inauguration of The Philippine Star’s new headquarters at Amvel Business Park in Parañaque City on Wednesday, Jan. 22

In his speech, the Palace official highlighted how the press, particularly outlets committed to journalistic integrity, serves as both a witness and participant in the collective drive for economic progress and nation-building.  

"In today’s complex political and social landscape, the media should offer itself as a vital platform for meaningful discourse and a deeper understanding of the issues that shape the consciousness of all Filipinos involved in the great task of nation-building," he said.  

The event also featured a message from First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos who extended her well-wishes to the media organization.
