Two men were arrested by the Las Piñas City Police at a Commission on Election (Comelec) checkpoint for violating the gun ban on Friday, Jan. 24.

Las Piñas City Police chief Col. Sandro Tafalla identified the suspects as “Gregy,” 34, and “Sab,” 21. They were arrested at around 3:10 a.m. in Barangay Talon Singko.

Tafalla said the suspects were initially flagged down by the police for not wearing helmets.

They then recovered a bladed weapon and a replica pistol from the two following a brief chase.

The suspects were brought at the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) after their arrest and are now facing illegal possession of firearm and bladed weapon charges.
