Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) places great value on its customers’ safety and wants to ensure that no Honda products running on the road could harm anyone. As such, Honda Cars is calling on owners of these specific vehicles to contact their nearest dealer to find out if their units are affected. If affected, Honda will repair these vehicles with the appropriate parts FREE OF CHARGE.
This particular recall affects Honda CR-V RS e:HEV E-CVT units from year models 2023 to 2024. Honda will address two matters, namely, high-pressure fuel pump which may result in gasoline fumes leaking and steering gearbox snagging, an unusual sound, and vibration while turning.

High-pressure fuel pump

The High-Pressure Fuel Pump Recall includes select CR-V RS e:HEV E-CVT units from year models 2023 to 2024. These High-Pressure Fuel Pumps may have cracks on the Core B, which may result in gasoline fume leakage. This could result in the customer smelling gasoline while idling and driving. HCPI announces that all 1,351 affected units shall be subject to inspection, and this is FREE OF CHARGE.

Steering gearbox

HCPI is also issuing a recall for certain steering gearboxes for snagging, unusual sound and vibration while turning. Due to the decrease in grease amount in the worm gear, meshing area of the Electric Power Steering Gearbox during use, the sliding resistance in the meshing area increases and the torque fluctuation becomes larger while turning the steering wheel. This results in an unusual sound and an coarse feeling from steering while turning or ‘sticky steering’ that might make the driver feel a sense of unease.

HCPI reports there are 5,505 affected units. Replacement parts and labor for this voluntary recall are FREE OF CHARGE.
No cases nor accidents related to either of the recalls have been reported locally. Nonetheless, HCPI is taking the initiative to conduct repairs proactively. HCPI apologizes for any inconvenience these recalls may cause.

All affected customers are urged to avail inspection/replacements for these affected parts. Owners may proceed to any of the 38 Honda Cars dealerships and three (3) Service Centers nationwide beginning January 17, 2025. Customers can verify if their vehicle is affected by encoding its 17-digit Chassis Number or Vehicle Identification Number in the Chassis/VIN search tool of the recall information webpage at www.hondaphil.com/recall.  Customers can also contact Honda’s customer service hotline, 1-800-1000-HONDA (46632) or (02) 857-7240 between 8am to 5pm, from Monday to Friday, or email [email protected] for further assistance.
