Police seized around P4.8 million worth of shabu following the arrest of a 33-year old suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
A report from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) identified the arrested suspect as Sherhana Hatae alias "Sherhana," a 33-year-old resident of San Jose, Guadalupe, Makati City.
She was collared around 11:45 p.m. along Cabasan Street, Barangay South Signal by operatives of the Taguig City Police Station (TCPS).
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano lauded the local police force for the successful operation, saying it was a big boost in the City’s zero-tolerance policy on drugs.
“The police force’s unwavering commitment reflects our collective effort to protect our communities and provide a better future for every resident in our Transformative, Lively, and Caring Probinsyudad,” said Cayetano.
During the operation, authorities recovered three knot-tied plastic bags containing 708.5 grams of shabu valued at ₱4,817,800, along with buy-bust money consisting of a genuine ₱1,000 bill and 49 pieces of ₱1,000 boodle money, as well as a lavender paper bag used during the transaction.
The operation is the latest in a string of successful buy-busts by the police in Taguig City, one of them is the arrest of suspected big-time drug dealer Joel Tiñga, allegedly a member of the Tiñga drug syndicate, in an anti-illegal drugs operation last year.
In August 2024, the station earned national recognition at the 123rd Police Service Anniversary Celebration as the National Winner over 1,700 drug-related arrests.
High-value targets, such as Joel Tiñga—a key drug dealer in Taguig and a member of the Tiñga drug syndicate—were apprehended in buy-bust operations as a result of the police's intensified anti-drug efforts
