Construction of P270-M Cadiz City Medical Center starts

BACOLOD CITY – A 50-bed hospital will soon rise in Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The city government kicked off the construction of the P270-million Cadiz City Medical Center with the groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, Jan. 20, that coincided with the Golden Dinagsa Festival in the city.

Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. said that the city government funded and building the project to cater to the city’s growing population.

The hospital will have a minor operating room, emergency room, clinical laboratory, pharmacy, eight-bed medical ward, and isolation rooms, among other facilities.

“This will be a little bit modern,” Escalante said.

This will be Cadiz’s second hospital alongside the provincial government-run Saint Anne’s Hospital.

Construction is scheduled for 667 days and Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson called the project a significant achievement for the city’s healthcare system.
