Rep. Tulfo sees 5% drop but maintains lead in 2025 pre-senatorial survey — Tangere

ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo remains the frontrunner in the Pre-Election Senatorial Preferential Survey conducted by Tangere from Jan. 8 to 11, despite experiencing a 5 percent drop in his voter preference.

In the survey results released on Wednesday, Jan. 22, Tulfo holds a 58 percent rating, though his support has slightly declined following recent concerns over his status as an undocumented worker in the United States.

Tangere said the decline is most pronounced among voters 18 to 25 years old and those 51 years old and above.

In second place is Senator Bong Go, with 51 percent voter preference. His support is strongest in Mindanao and among respondents aged 36 to 50.

At second to fourth place with 49.5 percent is media executive and Rep. Tulfo’s brother, Ben Tulfo. His strong showing is largely driven by voter support from the Visayas and the National Capital Region (NCR).

Close behind him is former Senator Tito Sotto, who received 48 percent though his support has dropped by nearly 3 percent since the previous month. Sotto’s decline is particularly noticeable among younger voters, particularly those aged 18 to 25.

Former Senator Manny Pacquiao is tied for third to fourth place with 45 percent voter preference, benefiting from strong backing in the Visayas.

Meanwhile, Senator Pia Cayetano holds 43.17 percent (third to fourth), with her support more prominent among older voters, though her rating has dropped slightly among male voters and those aged 18-25.

Positions seven through 10 are statistically tied, with four candidates in close competition.

Former Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos, Jr. has 36 percent, driven by support from both the upper and lower-middle-income classes.

Senator Bong Revilla Jr. follows with 35.5 percent although his support is weaker among male voters and those aged 51 and above.

Senator Francis Tolentino holds 34.5 percent, benefitting from his active social media presence.

Senator Lito Lapid rounds out this group with 34.21 percent, largely supported by voters aged 26 to 35.

In the 11th to 15th position, six candidates are statistically tied.

Former Senator Panfilo Lacson is in the lead among this group with 32 percent, followed by Senator Imee Marcos with 31.67 percent.

Senator Abby Binay is next at 31.5 percent, while Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa follows closely with 31 percent.

Former senators Francis Pangilinan and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV are tied at 30.71 percent and 30.58 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, several candidates fall outside the top 12 but continue to attract significant attention.

Comedian Willie Revillame has 29 percent voter preference, with notable support from voters aged 26 to 35.

Social media personality Dr. Willie Ong follows with 28 percent, though his support in the Visayas is lower.

Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar also holds 28 percent, with lower preference among male voters.

Former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson, who recently withdrew from the Senate race, also polled 28 percent, with his support concentrated in Northern and Central Luzon.

The Tangere survey involved 2,400 participants from across the Philippines. The respondents were selected through stratified random sampling to ensure a broad geographical representation, with a margin of error of +/- 1.96 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

The survey distribution was 12 percent from NCR, 23 percent from Northern Luzon, 22 percent from Southern Luzon, 20 percent from the Visayas, and 23 percent from Mindanao.
