Las Piñas LGU cited as Top 2 performer in Metro Manila for solid waste management

The Las Piñas City government was recognized by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) as the Top 2 Best Performing Local Government Unit (LGU) in Metro Manila for solid waste management in 2024.

Las Piñas City Vice Mayor April Aguilar presented the award from the MMDA during the flag-raising ceremony at the City Hall grounds on Monday, Jan. 20.

The award highlights the city's efficient waste disposal efforts throughout the year.

In addition, Aguilar said the Las Piñas City Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation received a Plaque of Appreciation from the National Youth Commission for being among the Top 10 SK Federations in the country.

The vice mayor said the recognitions underscore the city’s dedication to youth empowerment and environmental sustainability.
