Iloilo City cites MORE Power's contributions to economic growth

ILOILO CITY – The Razon-owned MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) has been recognized for its contributions to the economic growth of this city.

The Iloilo City Council passed a resolution that cited MORE Power’s role in economic growth since it took over as the sole power distributor here in 2020.

Authored by Councilor Romel Duron, the resolution credited the various programs undertaken by MORE Power to improve its facilities.

According to a study conducted by the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), MORE Power contributed almost P5 billion to the economy of Iloilo City.

The study also found that MORE Power was able to generate 2,200 jobs annually that brought in P1.75 billion in household income.

The resolution highlighted MORE Power’s other projects, including the P95-million underground distribution system here that started in the old central business district.

MORE Power was cited for its partnership with the Iloilo City government in various outreach programs such as cleanup drives, mangrove planting, and the annual release of fingerlings into the Iloilo River.
