71 wanted persons nabbed in Cordillera

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Seventy-one wanted persons were nabbed by the police in the Cordillera region from Jan. 12 to 19.

The Baguio City Police Office caught 24, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office with 20, Ifugao and Kalinga PPOs with seven each, Apayao PPO with six, Mountain Province PPO with five, and Abra PPO with two.

Seventeen were most wanted persons – seven on the regional level, seven on the provincial level, and three on the municipal level.

Fifty-three municipalities in the region and five police stations in Baguio City recorded no crime incidents during the week due to increased police presence.

No crimes were reported in 21 municipalities in Abra, 10 in Mountain Province, nine in Ifugao, seven in Benguet, four in Apayao, and two in Kalinga. In Baguio City, Police Stations 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 were crime-free.
