The Pasig City local government distributed aid to 56 families affected by a fire that hit several houses along West Bank Road, Barangay Rosario, Pasig City, on Saturday, Jan. 18.
Mayor Vico Sotto along with Rep. Roman Romulo, the city’s DRRMO Chief Bryant Wong, and Barangay Rosario officials distributed hygiene kits, including clothes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, and alcohol to the fire victims.
The city government, through the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), in cooperation with Barangay Rosario officials, promptly set up the evacuation center and provided sleeping kits.
Mayor Vico Sotto, along with Rep. Roman Romulo, the city’s DRRMO Chief Bryant Wong, and Barangay Rosario officials, visited the evacuation center on Sunday, Jan. 19, where they distributed hygiene kits, including clothes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, and alcohol.
Fire-affected families also received hot meals from the barangay officials and other volunteers.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at 7:02 p.m. and reached the second alarm at 7:27 p.m.
Firefighters were able to put the blaze under control at 8:06 p.m., and it was extinguished at 8:26 p.m.
