The Iloilo City Police Office said 21 suspected drug pushers were apprehended in 14 buy-bust operations from Jan. 13 to 20. Seized from them were 1.3 kilos of shabu.
Police Col. Kim Legada, ICPO chief, said this disrupts the flow of illegal drugs for the week leading to the Jan. 24 to 26 highlight of the Dinagyang, the city’s main festival in honor of the Santo Niño or Child Jesus.
“This also strengthens our collective resolve to ensure a safer and more secure Iloilo City,” added Legada on Monday, Jan. 20.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Capt. Ryan Inot recovered 600 grams of shabu valued at more than P4 million and a gun from three drug pushers in Jaro District on Jan. 6.
The CDEU seized total of 650 grams of shabu during the week, followed by the Police Station 9 with 320 grams, 150 grams by Police Station 10, 85 grams by Police Station 1, 70 grams by Police Station 2, and 35 grams by Police Station 4.
