Calamba becomes Suzuki City as part of MotoFest 2024

Commemorating Suzuki’s rich heritage as a name that has been synonymous with quality products, innovation, performance and reliability, the brand hosted the Suzuki City Motofest 2024 highlighting Calamba as the company’s home. 

Calamba in Laguna became Suzuki City for a day as the motorcycle brand hosted the Suzuki City Motofest 2024 highlighting Calamba as the company’s home.

Held last November 30, this Motofest is a bold statement and a vibrant showcase designed to solidify Calamba as a key market for Suzuki and a cornerstone of its Philippine operations. The event gave Calambenos and all motorcycle lovers the full Suzuki experience, the brand prepared an exciting array of activities for everyone to enjoy truly reflecting how to be a part of Team Suzuki Family.  

Since establishing its headquarters in a 126,000 sqm facility in Canlubang in 2012, Suzuki Philippines has been quietly cultivating a strong presence in the city, mirroring the success of its parent company; Suzuki Motor Corporation’s dominance in Hamamatsu, Japan.

The event opened with a motorcade of no less than 150 Suzuki motorcycles parading from the Suzuki Calamba Motorcentral 3S Shop passing through the town proper and Gat Jose Rizal’s residence, then moving along the very festive Calamba City Hall and on to the destination at the West Parking of SM City Calamba where all the festivities were being held. By the entrance, a display of Suzuki Philippines’ history and milestones were shown alongside the complete line-up of motorcycles of which most are proudly manufactured and assembled in the country sealed by Japan quality.

Attendees did not miss the chance to enjoy a free test ride of their favorite Suzuki motorcycles: the Raider R150, Burgman Street, the Gixxer bikes – Gixxer SF250, Gixxer 250, Gixxer 155, and the newly launched Gixxer SF155, as well as the ‘Master of Adventure,’ the V-Strom 250 SX. All Suzuki motorcycle owners were also treated with a free check-up and service with free Suzuki Ecstar Oil. Passers-by also took advantage of the free Coffee being served by Team Suzuki. Custom bike enthusiasts from the region were also invited to display their modified bikes.

In the afternoon, Suzuki hosted the free Safety Riding Seminar which further underscored the brand’s commitment to safety riding, being the Guinness World Record title holder for the Largest Road Safety Lesson for more than seven years already (and counting). 
Suzuki’s Motovloggers’ Karlo Salonga, BossBabe Anna Lhi, Asian Pacboi, Ned Adriano and Neg x Gela participated for a Meet and Greet. Contests were also held such as the Suzuki City Inter-school Dance Battle as well as the highly anticipated Suzuki City Biker Babe adding more fun to the occasion. Calamba’s own and Suzuki owner actor/national volleyball player John Vic De Guzman also did a performance. The event was hosted by Love Radio’s Dj Tanya Chinita who also own a Suzuki motorcycle.

The Motofest was further hyped by a concert featuring rap group Allmo$t Music and Pinoy Rock Band Hale and capped through a raffle of a brand new Suzuki Burgman Street.

“Today we celebrate not just the spirit of motorcycling but also the legacy of Suzuki as a company,” said Suzuki Philippines’ Managing Director Mr. Norminio Mojica, in his speech during the event. Division Head for Motorcycle Sales and Marketing Mr. Joey Salavarria added, “Suzuki’s home base is Calamba and it is something to be proud about. The bikes that we produced are even exported in our neighboring ASEAN countries!”

More than Motorcycles, Suzuki Philippines also distributes automobiles and outboard motors as well as Suzuki Genuine Parts making it the only wholly owned automotive subsidiary in the country that distributes all the products of its mother company. The Suzuki City Motofest 2024 also served as a testament to the company’s commitment to the market, strengthening Suzuki’s presence in Calamba and setting the stage for future initiatives that will solidify its position as a leading brand in the region.
