AJ Lim, one of the country’s promising tennis players, gears up for a series of international tournaments in the coming months including stops in China and Thailand.

The 25-year-old Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist is scheduled to participate in two consecutive tournaments in Maanshan, China from Feb. 24 to March 9, followed by another event in Nonthaburi, Thailand from March 17 to 30.

Prior to these events, Lim is set to undergo extensive training after months-long hiatus from international tournaments.

His last foreign stint was in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) M15 Hong Kong event last September.

Last year, he competed in 10 ITF singles tournaments and made it as far as the semifinals in the M15 Tianjin in China after going through a grueling three-match qualifier.

Locally, though, he competed and won several tournaments including the Manila Open last September.

“We are incredibly proud of AJ and all that he has achieved so far. His dedication and passion for the sport are unparalleled, and we firmly believe that he has what it takes to excel in these tournaments,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier who has been supporting Lim’s endeavors.

“AJ deserves all the recognition for his hard work, and we wish him nothing but the best as he represents the Philippines abroad,” he added.
