Search on for missing boat in Cagayan with 7 onboard

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Philippine Air Force-Tactical Operations Group 2 is set to conduct an aerial search and rescue mission on the coasts of Northern Luzon for a missing boat with seven individuals bound for Barangay Dilam on Calayan Island, this province.

Col. Glen Piquero of PAF-TOG 2 said they are awaiting a flight directive to start their search and rescue.

Piquero said it is possible that they will conduct flight preparations in Laoag City due to the weather in the province of Isabela.

They plan to search the coasts of Dalupiri and Fuga Islands as well as Pagudpud, Bangui, Pasuquin, and Bacarra.

Mayor Joseph Llopis of Calayan said the boat may have possibly passed their island without their knowledge as it was still dark when they left.

MB Ren-Zen 2 left the town of Claveria in Cagayan with seven individuals including five crew members and two passengers at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
