The Pasay Commission on Election (Comelec) launched its first joint security control center to ensure a transparent, efficient, and credible electoral process during the conduct of the May 12 National and Local Elections and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Election.
During the launching, Pasay City Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) Fire Marshall Supt. Mariano Taguiam, representing the BFP, joined Comelec Election Officer IV 2nd District Lawyer Alvin Jan Tugas, Pasay City Police Chief Col. Samuel Pabonita, Pasay City Treasurer Emelito Tecson, and Pasay City School Division Superintendent Dr. Joel Torrecampo.
The command conference was held last Jan. 14 at the Pasay City Administrator’s Conference Room, where a demonstration of the automatic counting machine and testing of the ballot machine were conducted to showcase its accuracy.
Taguiam said the Pasay BFP remains committed to its role in ensuring fire safety and readiness for all voting centers, Comelec offices, and canvassing areas.
He also said the activation aims to strengthen the coordination and readiness of the agencies, ensuring a secure, orderly, and smooth conduct of the 2025 National and Local Election.
