More than 500 images of the Sto. Nino or Infant Jesus are on display at the Cuneta Astrodome as the annual Fiesta Del Sto. Nino kicked-off on Thursday, Jan. 16, the Pasay City government has announced.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano led the Panaog procession from the Pasay City Hall grounds to the Cuneta Astrodome at around 4:00 p.m.
Rubiano said the Sto. Nino image visited the Pasay City Hall on Jan. 13 which was also the start of the registration of Sto. Nino images for exhibition from Jan. 16 to 24.
She said the Panaog exhibit will offer a captivating glimpse into the diverse artistry and devotion surrounding the Sto. Nino, showcasing statues from various communities and families across Pasay City and beyond.
The mayor said visitors can expect an immersive experience and witness the rich cultural heritage and deep-seated faith that define one of the country's revered festival.
Rubiano said the Grand Procession on Jan. 26 will showcase hundreds of Santo Niño statues which will be carried through the streets of Pasay City in a vibrant display of faith and community spirit.
She said the procession will start at the Pasay City Hall and will go around the city towards Star City/Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
Devotees of the Sto. Nino may visit the Cuneta Astrodome from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A novena mass is scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
