The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) seized around P36.7 million worth of illegal drugs in the first two weeks following the conduct of almost 300 intelligence-driven operations in Metro Manila.
NCRPO director Brig. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said the aggressive operations from January 1 to 14 also resulted in the arrest of 410 drug suspects.
Based on the NCRPO data, P25.4 million of the confiscated illegal drugs were shabu, P10.5 million are marijuana while the rest are other forms of illegal drugs that include vape cartridges containing liquid marijuana.
“This underscores NCRPO's relentless pursuit to eliminate Metro Manila of illegal drugs,” said Aberin, as he lauded his men for 24/7 illegal drugs operations in the past two weeks.
He said the police operations is part of a shift of strategy under a policing framework that focuses on proactive policing, intelligence-driven operations, and community engagement.
Aberin also urged the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting the law enforcement in its fight against illegal drugs.
“In 2025, the community can be assured that NCRPO’s campaign against illegal drugs will be more relentless, aggressive, and highly-analytical done with utmost regard to the due observance of the Police Operational Procedures and due process of law,” said Aberin.
