Shabu, guns seized; 3 suspects arrested in Taguig

The Taguig Police seized shabu worth P741,200 and firearms, and arrested three men in two operations in Taguig on Jan. 14. 

In Barangay Napindan, operatives from the Taguig Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested two suspects identified as a certain Michael, 43, and a certain Gapor, 29, after they were found in possession of shabu and firearms. 

Confiscated from them were 51.3 grams of shabu worth P348,840; one genuine P500, six pieces of P1,000 boodle money, a 9-mm Bersa Thunder 8 handgun, a 9-mm Armscor gun, two magazines for 9-mm guns; 10 pieces of live ammunition for 9-mm guns; and a car used by the suspects.

They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act), Republic Act 10591 (illegal possession of firearms), and Section 261 of the Omnibus Election Code (election offense).

Before this, the SDEU operatives conducted an operation in Barangay Lower Bicutan that resulted in the arrest of a certain Abdul, 46, tagged as a high-value individual. 

During the operation, authorities seized 57.7 grams of shabu valued at P392,360, a genuine P1,000 bill and six pieces of P1,000 bills used as boodle money, and a coin purse containing the illegal drugs. 

“We are pleased to announce that through the relentless efforts of our officers on the ground, we successfully apprehended these suspects who now face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165) and related laws. I also want to extend our gratitude to the public for their vital support in reporting suspicious activities. It is through our collective vigilance and cooperation that we continue to make significant strides in the fight against crime,” said Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena, chief of the Southern Police District (SPD).
