Priest killed in motorcycle-SUV collision

TACLOBAN CITY – A priest died in a collision between a motorcycle and a sports utility vehicle in Barangay Naubay, Llorente, Eastern Samar on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

GALO (Diocese of Borongan FB)

Police identified the victim as Alejandro Galo, 66, custodian of church properties in the Diocese of Borongan.

Initial investigation said that the victim was driving his motorcycle when it collided with an oncoming vehicle from the opposite lane on a sharp curve.

Galo sustained severe injuries that caused his death

The driver of the SUV was placed under the custody of the Borongan police.

The Diocese of Borongan asked for prayers in honor of the life and legacy of Galo.

“Details regarding the wake masses and burial will be communicated shortly. Let us come together in prayer, remembering Fr. Alex in our hearts and asking for God's comfort for all who mourn his loss.”
