PH consulate offers emergency services to Pinoys affected by LA wildfires

The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles (LAPCG) is set to provide emergency consular services during the remaining Saturdays of the month to aid Filipinos who might have been affected by the wildfires.

In a Facebook post, the Philippine LA Consulate said the emergency consular operations will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 18 and Jan. 25.

The operations are open to Filipinos who might have lost the following identification and travel documents due to the wildfires:

  • Passport/Travel document
  • Consular notarization
  • Assistance to nationals

 

The LAPCG said those needing consular services do not need to set appointments.

However, clients will be attended to on a first-come, first-served basis.

Early this week, the LAPCG said its operations remain unhampered amid the ongoing wildfires. Clients with confirmed appointments can come to the office as scheduled while those unable to come due to the tragedy can come when they can.

In an interview with GMA Integrated News on Jan. 14, Los Angeles Consul General Adelio Angelito Cruz said around 191 Filipinos and Filipino-Americans have been displaced by the tragedy.

The LA wildfires started on Jan. 7.
