P28-M marijuana recovered from call center agent, pal

MALLIG, Isabela – Marijuana valued at P28 million was seized from a call center agent and his companion on Tuesday, Jan. 14, in Barangay Centro here.

MARIJUANA valued at P28 million was seized in Mallig, Isabela on Tuesday, Jan. 14.

The Police Regional Office-2 identified the suspects as Jayson, 30, call center agent, and Richard, 30.

Lawmen flagged down a black Toyota Fortuner with license plates NHM-9054 while conducting a checkpoint in Barangay Bantug, Roxas, Isabela.

However, the driver ignored the checkpoint and headed north. Police chased them until they were cornered in Barangay Centro.

Police searched the vehicle and found 222 marijuana bricks valued at P26.6 million, 19 rolls of dried marijuana  leaves with fruiting tops worth P2.2 million, hand grenade, and the car.

The pieces of evidence were marked and inventoried on site and taken to the Roxas police station for documentation and proper disposition.
