P25.6-M shabu seized by PRO-6 in 3 weeks

ILOILO CITY – Police seized suspected shabu valued at P25.6 million in Western Visayas region in three weeks.

The Police Regional Office-6 said the contraband was confiscated in 95 operations from Dec. 15, 2024 to Jan. 5, 2025.

“These statistics show that even we are celebrating the Yuletide season, we are relentless in our operations against illegal drugs,” said PRO-6 chief Police Brig. Gen.  Jack Wanky.

The Bacolod City Police Office recovered shabu worth P16.5 million; Iloilo City Police Office, P6.5 million, 
and Iloilo Police Provincial Office, P1 million.

The BCPO arrested the highest number of drug suspects, followed by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office with 43 and the ICPO with 37.

Wanky urged police units in the region to intensify its anti-drug operations.
