The First Lady posted a photo on her Facebook page on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
“Dinner with Senators and their spouses,” she captioned the photo.
She also said the dinner was held at the Bahay Pangulo, the First Family’s official residence, inside the Malacañan Palace Complex.
All senators attended the dinner, except for Senators Risa Hontiveros, Grace Poe, Ronald Dela Rosa, Bong Go, and the President’s sister, Imee Marcos.
Even Senator Robin Padilla, a known Duterte ally who said she will vote “no” to Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment, was present in the dinner.
The INC rally, held on the same day as the dinner, was believed to be in support of Duterte, who is facing three impeachment complaints at the House of Representatives.
Its leadership, however, insisted that the rally was apolitical and if anything, it was in support of Marcos’ earlier stance against Duterte’s possible impeachment.
The Palace has yet to report on the agenda of the dinner.
