Cebu Pacific rides high on Clark airport's rising popularity, flies over 1 million in 2024

Gokongwei-led Cebu Pacific was able to fly more than one million passengers from and to Clark International Airport last year, marking a 36 percent jump from the total number of passengers flown in 2023.

The increase was supported by a 102-percent jump in the average monthly seat, as well as flights nearly doubling to 872 in December, the company said in a statement on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

“We are delighted by the strong growth we achieved in 2024, which highlights the growing demand for accessible air travel among our passengers from central and northern Luzon. Cebu Pacific remains steadfast in its commitment to offering affordable and convenient flights, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of our customers,” Cebu Pacific Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer Candice Iyog said.

The flight and seat expansion aligns with the carrier’s mission to make travel more accessible to flyers from the central and northern Luzon areas, namely Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, Isabela, and La Union.

At present, Cebu Pacific services 11 domestic and international routes from Clark, including Bohol, Caticlan (Boracay), Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Narita (Tokyo), and Singapore.

In total, it operates in 35 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

Last December, Cebu Pacific achieved a new milestone of flying 250 million passengers in its 28th year of commercial operations.

It continues to pursue an aggressive expansion strategy, with the purchase of 152 aircraft from Airbus for $24 billion.
