The initiative is part of the “Walang Tulugan Serbisyo Caravan 4.0,” a 24-hour series of activities designed to make programs more accessible to residents while promoting unity, hope, and compassion.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) head Roderick Tongol led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the mobile laundry unit, which aims to provide immediate relief and recovery services during disasters.
"Kasabay po ng pagdiriwang ng aking kaarawan, ay ating ilulunsad ang ikaapat na Walang Tulugan Serbisyo Caravan na ating regalong hatid para sa inyo. Dito ay maraming serbisyong nag-aabang para sa inyo na maaari ninyong puntahan, malaman, at ma-enjoy (As we celebrate my birthday, we will also launch the fourth Walang Tulugan Serbisyo Caravan as our special gift for all of you. Here, numerous services await that you can visit, learn about, and enjoy),” she said.
“Isang buong araw po tayong magsasama-sama at magseserbisyo para sa lahat. Nawa'y maging masaya po tayong lahat at ibahagi sa isa't isa ang diwa ng bayanihan (We will spend an entire day together, serving everyone. May we all find joy in this event and share the spirit of bayanihan with one another),” Sandoval added.
The mobile laundry unit supports disaster survivors by offering free laundry services, reducing health risks linked to unclean clothing in evacuation centers, and promoting resilience.

During the event, 100 individuals availed themselves of the service and received laundry kits containing baskets, detergents, fabric conditioners, bleach, and hangers.
"Access to clean clothing is often overlooked when disasters hit cities. This program will allow the Malabueños to get clean clothes that will ensure their health and safety even during calamities while they stay at evacuation centers," City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete said.
The "Walang Tulugan Serbisyo Caravan 4.0" also included a Mega Job Fair featuring 4,536 job vacancies from 30 local agencies, medical and dental consultations at multiple venues, and environmental initiatives like a clean-up drive and a program allowing residents to exchange plastic waste for cash.
In addition, social services include free cinema screenings for senior citizens, solo parents, and PWDs; financial aid for PWD learners, gill net turnovers for fishermen, and birth certificate registration.
Legal assistance were also provided through a live program on Malabon TV’s Facebook page, while cultural activities featured cooking demos by award-winning chefs.
Sandoval emphasized that the city government remains committed to improving the lives of Malabueños, with plans for more programs and initiatives throughout the year.
