4-year-old girl, father found dead in Makati City

A 4-year-old girl and her father were found dead inside the house of their relative in Barangay Pio del Pilar, Makati City on Monday, Jan. 13.

According to police authorities, the girl's father, 22 years old, was asked to look after the home of his sibling who went on vacation.

Upon their return, they found the father and daughter already dead, allegedly by hanging.

The suspect was found hanging with an electric cord wrapped around his neck while his daughter was found with shoe laces tied around her neck.

The child's grandmother told the police that she failed to contact her son to remind him of the girl's return to school that day. This prompted her to visit the house to check on the two.

The girl's father and his wife have reportedly been estranged since November 2024.

Police said there were no indications that the suspect was under the influence of illegal drugs when he committed the crime.

Police are still investigating the incident.
