ZAMBOANGA CITY – A 21-year-old student was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman in Isabela City, Basilan province on Sunday, Jan. 12, the first day of the gun ban in the May elections.
Newly appointed Isabela City police director Police Lt. Col. Raymond Sanson identified the fatality as Eddie Badli Sauragal.
Investigation disclosed that Sauragal and fellow student, Hamudi Mohammad, 18, were walking in Purok 2, Barangay Tampalan when the suspect shot them.
Sauragal was killed and Mohammad was wounded.
Police are eyeing prohibited drugs and personal grudge as possible motives for the crime.
