Fajardo made history as the first female officer in the Philippine National Police to become a regional police director.

She was appointed the 35th PRO-3 director on Jan. 10, succeeding Police Brig. Gen. Redrico A. Maranan who was reassigned as PRO-7 (Central Visayas) police chief.

Fajardo urged all provincial and city police directors under PRO-3 to ensure a safe and peaceful election period.

She urged lawmen to strictly adhere to the PNP's apolitical stance and high standards of professionalism.

Fajardo committed to sustain and enhance ongoing initiatives at PRO-3. She also said that she intends to build on the solid foundations laid by her predecessors while cascading her directives at the appropriate time.

A member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1996, Fajardo served the PRO-3 before as Pampanga police and regional intelligence chiefs.
