Williams will make his return for the Charles Tiu-mentored squad which is preparing for the tournament that is slated from Jan. 24 to Feb. 2.

Tiu expressed his excitement of getting reunited with the shifty guard as the two previously worked together for Mighty Sports which won two titles in the 2019 William Jones Cup and 2020 Dubai Basketball Championship.

“I’m excited to be working with him again,” said Tiu.

“I was quite close to him before. We won two championships together, and hopefully, we can win another one,” he added.

The Los Angeles, California native will be a huge addition to an already potent lineup that has Rhenz Abando, Ange Kouame, Jason Brickman, and Andray Blatche.

Reinforcing SGA are imports Malachi Richardson, Terry Larrier and four-time NBA All-Star Demarcus Cousins, who are all eyeing redemption after the team's final loss to Al-Riyadi in the last edition. Collegiate aces in NCAA MVP Allen Liwag, Tony Ynot and Justine Sanchez also in the roster.

Meanwhile, NBA champion and future Basketball Hall of Famer Dwight Howard expressed his support to SGA.

The 39-year-old seasoned big man wrote on his social media pages that he can't resist the clamor of Filipino fans who continuously support him after numerous teams offered him to play in Dubai cagefest.

“I got offered to play for a couple teams in the Dubai tournament but I can’t go against my Pinoy fans,” said Howard.

“Let’s go, Strong Group. Let’s go, Andray [Blatche], Let’s go, Boogie (Demarcus Cousins), Let’s go coach Charles (Tiu). Stay strong,” he added.
