At CES, Baseus made some interesting announcements.
One is the Baseus Security S2 camera. It has no need for wires and cables whatsoever. It operates using a chargeable battery, and acting as its shield is a solar panel. What’s interesting about this solar panel is that it tilts left and right on its own. This allows the S2 to directly point the solar panel wherever the sun is, maximizing the charge throughout the day.
The downside here is that it doesn’t support 24/7 recording and nothing is stored in the cloud. But there is no subscription fee, which is a breath of fresh air. Events are recorded, which Baseus says the S2 will use AI to help differentiate humans, animals, and other objects, so as not to flood your notifications with false alerts. There is a mobile app where you can remotely access the feed.
The other thing Baseus announced is a power bank called EnerGeek MiFi. It has 20,000mAh and charge multiple devices at the same time. Oh, it also acts as a 4G hotspot supported in 100 countries. Baseus hasn’t announced pricing plans yet, maybe soon when it approaches this April’s launch date. But they did say there will be no monthly subscription fees, and getting a plan will be done through an app. So, it sounds like it’s going to be a similar experience when purchasing e-SIMs when traveling.
