BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod City Police Office said that about 70,000 Iglesia ni Cristo members attended the National Rally for Peace here on Monday, Jan. 13.

Roads were temporarily closed to enable INC members to gather for the rally at the Provincial Capitol Park and Lagoon from 6 a.m. to 12 midnight.
Participants were from the southern part of Negros Occidental who arrived as early as Sunday night, Jan. 12.
Police assured the public of tight security to ensure that no untoward incidents will happen during the event.
The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office deployed more than 60 traffic enforcers to manage traffic.
Closed roads were Lacson St. (from Cottage Road to 15th St.), North and South Capitol Road, and a section of 6th St. near the Capitol Lagoon.
BTAO implemented temporary traffic schemes at Cottage Road (one-way westbound), Aguinaldo Street (one-way northbound), and Gatuslao St. (one-way southbound).
