President Marcos has offered his sympathy over the devastating wildfires in Southern California in the United States, and hoped for the recovery of affected communities.

In a message on Sunday, Jan. 12, Marcos expressed hopes that the affected communities begin their recovery with compassion and solidarity.
"On behalf of the Filipino people, I extend my deepest sympathies to all who have been affected by the devastating wildfires in Southern California, USA — a place that many of our kababayans call home," Marcos said.
"May the community’s road to recovery begin with strength, compassion and solidarity," he added.
The President also urged everyone to stay safe and remain vigilant.
The wildfires raging in the Los Angeles started on Tuesday, killing at least 16 people and incinerated more than 12,000 structures.
