Las Piñas LGU distributes DSWD livelihood grants to 253 fire, flood victims

The Las Piñas City government distributed livelihood grants to 253 individuals who were victims of floods and fire on Sunday, Jan 12.

According to Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-National Capital Region (NCR), in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), distributed livelihood settlement grants to support the 253 individuals with small-scale businesses or livelihoods disrupted by the disasters.

Aguilar said among the beneficiaries were 86 fire victims from Barangays Elias Aldana, Pilar, Talon Tres, and CAA and 167 flood victims from Barangays Pamplona Tres, Talon Tres, and Elias Aldana. 

She said the qualified beneficiary each received financial assistance ranging from ₱10,000 to ₱15,000 depending on the validation results of DSWD-NCR.

The mayor said the payout process held at the Las Piñas Multipurpose Hall was handled by CSWDO and DSWD-NCR personnel to ensure that aid was provided efficiently and directly to the qualified recipients.

Aguilar said the initiative underscores the city government’s dedication to providing timely and effective assistance to residents affected by calamities for them to recover and rebuild their livelihoods.
