Pasay LGU to hold Operation Timbang Plus

Pasay City Mayor Emi Cliaxto-Rubiano announced the team of city health workers will knock at the door of residents with children aged zero to 59 year-old for the conduct of “Operation Timbang Plus” (OPT).

Rubiano said health professionals composed of midwives, nutritionist dietitians, barangay nutrition scholars, nutrition committees, health workers and community volunteers will conduct OPT to determine the weight and height of every child.

She said the OPT is being conducted from January to March annually to determine the nutritional status of children.

The mayor said the OPT also aimed to identify families with children that needed immediate attention. 

Rubiano said the OPT results will be used by the local government units in planning the nutrition programs of barangays and the nutrition office.
