The Pasay City government reminded business owners that there will be no special treatment in the processing and issuance of business permits following a complaint against two wet markets allegedly being allowed to operate with just probationary permits.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano said the two wet markets were given probationary permit last year on the condition that they will be going to submit the lacking documents on a set date.

Business Processing and Licensing Office (BPLO) chief Atty. Patrick Legaspi explained that one of the two wet markets being complained already submitted the necessary documents for operation.

“Yung isa na lang po ang hindi pa nakakapagsumite ng complete requirements. Itong Wowee Market maraming beses po natin silang binigyan ng paalala to comply with their lacking documents (There's only one more wet market left that has not yet completed the requirements. Wowee Market was previously given several notices to comply)," Legaspi said.

A representative from Wowee Market visited the BPLO office on Friday, Jan. 10 to submit the needed documents. However, they still lack sanitary and occupational permits.

“Kung wala pa rin silang complete requirements, wala po tayong magagawa. Hindi natin sila bibigyan ng permit to operate hangga’t walang completion of requirements (If they haven't completed the requirements, then we cannot do anything about it. We cannot issue a permit to operate to them as long as they haven't submitted all the necessary documents)," the official said.
