A year of learning: UP Open University offers over 40 free online courses in 2025


The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has announced that it will offer over 40 online courses in 2025.

“Let’s make 2025 your year of learning,” UPOU said in a Facebook post on Jan. 9, announcing that 44 free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) will be offered, “covering a wide range of topics to spark your curiosity and fuel your growth.”

UPOU explained that the online courses are “free, self-paced, and open.” Those who complete the courses may earn electronic certificates, which can be added to resumes as “16-hour training.”

“Whatever your interests, we’ve got something just for you!” UPOU added.

UPOU has listed the free online courses available from January to December 2025 and provided the steps to access them:
