Maranan named Central Visayas top cop; Tuaño is new PNP spokesperson

Police Brig. Gen. Redrico A. Maranan was designated as the new regional director of Police Regional Office- 7 in a latest reshuffle that affected 10 other senior officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Maranan was replaced by Brig. Gen. Jean S. Fajardo as regional director of the Police Regional Office 3 while Brig. Gen. Roel C. Rodolfo was named as the new regional director of the Police Regional Office 9. 

Police Col. Randulf T. Tuaño is Fajardo's replacement as chief of the PNP-Public Information Office, and PNP spokesperson.

Rodolfo, who just assumed the leadership of the PNP-Anti-Kidnapping Group on Jan. 8, was replaced by Police Col. Elmer Ragay.  

The reshuffle of the four officials took effect on Jan. 10 along with the designation of Police Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding as the deputy director of the Directorate for Comptrollership.

On the other hand, Police Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta is now the officer-in-charge of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) while Police Col. Rolando Cuya, Jr. replaced him as the head of the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG). 

Police Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta was named as the deputy director of the Directorate for Information and Communications Technology (DICT) while Brig. Gen. William Segun is now the deputy director of the PNP’s Area Police Command in Southern Luzon. 

From PNP-Aviation Security Group (AVSEGRP), Police Col. Malvin Napiloy was transferred to Police Regional Office-Calabarzon.
