Around 17 individuals, including two bus drivers, were injured after three buses collided at the EDSA-Balintawak Carousel Busway in Barangay Balingasa, Quezon City on Friday, Jan. 10.
According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the three buses were travelling along the busway towards EDSA when the incident occurred at around 1:10 p.m. on Friday.
Police said the front portion of the bus driven by Jobert Incocencio bumped the rear portion of the bus driven by Alejandro Gabonilas.
Authorities said that due to the strong impact, Gabonilla's vehicle moved forward and hit the rear portion of another bus driven by Edward Laririt.
According to reports, the bus driven by Incocencio allegedly lost its brakes, causing it to crash into the bus in front of it.
Gabonilas and Incocencio, together with 15 other passengers, were injured.
The Philippine Red Cross-Quezon City Chapter immediately responded and rushed the injured passengers to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
The QCPD is still investigating the incident.
