Carnap ring leader nabbed in Laguna

CALAUAN, Laguna – Police arrested the suspected leader of the Alipon Carnapping Group in Barangay San Isidro, this town, on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9.

Police Col. Rommel Estolano, head of the Police Regional Office 4-A Highway Patrol Group, identified the suspect as Nemencio Alipon, 39.

Alipon was apprehended on a warrant for  carnapping issued by Judge Gil Jude Franco Santa Maria Jr., Presiding Judge, Branch 102, Fourth Judicial Region, Santa Rosa City, Laguna.

Alipon was listed as the most wanted person in  Santa Rosa City.

The suspect was allegedly involved in large-scale  “rentangay,” rent, sangla (pawn), and pasalo (assume) schemes in 2023.

Alipon was arrested that year and was out on bail when he was re-arrested.
