Bizman, nursing student killed in Albay fire

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Two persons were killed in a fire that razed a house in Barangay Rawis here on Friday, Jan. 10.

Police Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-5 spokesperson, identified the victims as Princess Ysabelle, 21, a nursing student, and Melvin Sabado, 42, a businessman.

Investigation said the victims were sleeping when the fire broke in the house owned by Sabado at around midnight Thursday.

Calubaquib said that seven out of nine residents managed to escape but the two victims were unable to get out.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of fire and the extent of damage.
