Senators Loren Legarda, Alan Peter Cayetano, and Christopher "Bong" Go welcomed the year 2025 by talking about their hopes and aspirations for Filipinos and for the country.

"As we step into the new year, let us look back with gratitude at the lessons and experiences that have shaped us — the challenges that strengthened us and the victories that inspired us to be better versions of ourselves," Legarda said in a statement.

"The year ahead brings renewed hope, new beginnings, and new opportunities to dream bigger and work harder for our families, our communities, and our beloved nation," she said.

The lady lawmaker from Antique also asked Filipinos to "hold close in our hearts those who are less fortunate — those we call the least, the last, and the lost".

"By giving voice to the voiceless and giving strength to the vulnerable, we pave the way for stronger, more inclusive development that benefits all. Together, we can build a future where every Filipino has access to quality education, compassionate healthcare, livelihood and opportunities for growth," she said.

"May this year give you and your family abundant joy, good health and peace.

May we all find that spark, ignite the fire to make a difference, and live a life with meaning and purpose," Legarda said.

In a separate statement, Cayetano told Filipinos about the importance of having stronger faith in God with the turn of the year.

“We need renewal, but God does not need renewal. In every change, He’s always perfect,” he said.

Cayetano went on to link the development of his native Taguig to a leadership that is anchored on faith and a united dedication toward the community's progress.

“Our lifestyle in Taguig is rooted in choice — we choose work, and we choose God’s work, rather than relying on chance,” he said.

“The Lord will guide us if we remain steadfast and committed to His work...We are stronger when we do it as a body,” added the former House Speaker.

Meanwhile, Go continued his annual tradition of visiting the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) Bahay Pahulayan on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.

During his visit, the Davao-based senator not only distributed gifts but also delivered a heartfelt message of hope and compassion to patient watchers staying at the facility.

“Ang bisyo ko talaga ay magserbisyo, lalo na para sa ating mga nangangailangan...Kaya taun-taon, ginagawa ko ang lahat ng makakaya ko para maipakita ang malasakit sa mga kapwa nating Pilipino,” he said.

(My only vice is to serve the people, especially those in need...That's why every year, I do all that I can to show my compassion toward our fellow Filipinos.)

Families and hospital staff at the Bahay Pahulayan--a haven for patient watchers who often come from distant provinces--received from Go holiday gift packs, meals, and tokens such as calendars and keychains. To encourage recreation and camaraderie, the senator also donated basketballs and volleyballs to the facility.

Senator Go emphasized the importance of supporting not just the patients but also the families who accompany them. Around 100 individual benefited from Go’s outreach program this year.

The senator also took the opportunity to thank those who work tirelessly behind the scenes at Bahay Pahulayan, including House Supervising Steward Dawn Banzon and staff member George Lomantas. He says their dedication ensures the facility remains a safe and welcoming space for families during difficult times.
