SWS: Marcos satisfaction rating rebounds in June 2025; biggest gain registered in Mindanao

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s net satisfaction rose significantly to +10 in June, a 20-point rise from -10 in April, based on the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The survey, conducted from June 25 to 29, found that 46 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with the President’s performance, 19 percent were undecided, and 36 percent were dissatisfied.
The resulting +10 net satisfaction rating (satisfied minus dissatisfied) is classified by SWS as “moderate” (+10 to +29).
President Marcos’ latest score reflects a turnaround from the “poor” -10 in April, after steadily declining from +32 (very good) in September 2024 to +1 (neutral) in February 2025.
The survey showed that the President’s satisfaction rating rose across all major areas, with the largest improvement in Mindanao, where his score jumped 35 points, from –44 in April to –9 in June.
His rating also improved in other regions, rising 21 points from +7 in Balance Luzon, nine points from –11 in the Visayas, and seven points from –6 in Metro Manila.
Despite Mindanao’s strong improvement, net satisfaction remained highest in Balance Luzon at +28 (good), followed by Metro Manila at +1 (neutral), the Visayas at –2 (neutral), and Mindanao at –9 (neutral).
Ratings improve across demographics, age, education
Compared to April, President Marcos’ net satisfaction rating rose by 27 points in urban areas (from –14 to +13, “moderate”) and by 11 points in rural areas (from –4 to +7, “neutral”).
His rating also improved among both men and women, climbing 19 points among men (from –8 to +11, “moderate”) and 21 points among women (from –11 to +10, “moderate”).
By age group, President Marcos’ net satisfaction rating in June was highest among those 55 years and older at very good +32, followed by 45–54-year-olds at neutral +5, 35–44-year-olds at neutral +5, 25–34-year-olds at neutral +4, and 18–24-year-olds at poor –18.
Compared to April, ratings rose in nearly all age groups: 55 years and older increased by 23 points (from +9), 45–54-year-olds by six points (from –1), 35–44-year-olds by 18 points (from –13), and 25–34-year-olds by 43 points (from –39).
The rating among 18–24-year-olds remained largely unchanged at –19.
By educational attainment, the President scored highest among those with no formal education or some elementary education (non-elementary graduates) at good +34, followed by elementary graduates (finised elementary or some high school education) at good +21, junior high school students (finished junior high or some vocational schooling) at moderate +10, those with some senior high school (some or completed senior high school, vocational school, or college at neutral -2, and college graduates (college or post-graduate studies) at poor -13.
Compared to April, President Marcos’ net satisfaction rating rose in all educational levels: 32 points from neutral +2 among non-elementary graduates, 20 points from neutral +1 among elementary graduates, 19 points from neutral -9 among junior high school graduates, 17 points from poor -19 among those with some senior high school, and 15 points from poor -28 among college graduates.
The survey used face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide, divided equally across Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
Sampling error margins are ±3 percent for national figures and ±6 percent for each area.
